Aamir devises new marketing strategy for wife’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’

Mumbai: ‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan is known for his innovative film promotions and the ace actor is at it again. The quick Khan has
already decided upon the marketing strategy for his wife’s directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’. According to reports, Aamir’s
marketing plan for the film in question has been in place since more than six months now. It is believed that the catch of the entire promotion is
the fact that Aamir is playing the lead role in ‘Dhobi Ghat’, contrary to the claims that suggested that his was just a cameo
part.
The news that he is just playing a little part in the flick is untrue it seems, for it is nothing but Aamir’s marketing gimmick!
What was to be a closely guarded secret has come out in the open. Aamir, not only has a full-fledged role in the film but can be also called the lead
actor of the film along with Pratiek Babbar.
“It is a very clever marketing gimmick to say that Aamir only has a guest appearance in the
film. It ensures that the audience will go to watch the film with minimum expectations from an actor of Aamir’s calibre. What the filmmakers
want is for the audience to be glad to see Aamir throughout the film after expecting him to play a brief role in it. Consequently, viewers will feel
that they have got more than their money’s worth and that will work in the film’s favour. Which is why, it has been intentionally
announced that Aamir only has a cameo in the film. Actually, Aamir plays the central character along with Pratiek. Even the publicity around Aamir
will be low-key. It’s a marketing strategy”, says a source.
We are only hoping that this piece of news is not actual ‘the
marketing strategy’ for ‘Dhobi Ghat’!
