Aamir Khan was in the City to promote his latest film ‘3 Idiots’
The man with an infectious smile. The actor whose versatility is
unmatched and the only actor who spurs surprises with every new movie of his — Aamir Khan trooped into the City recently and was seen roaming
on the streets of Bangalore, in disguise of course, all in an effort to promote his latest movie 3 Idiots.
In his interaction with the media,
he shared his experiences about the movie and said the movie took him back to his college days. Aamir and the team spent close to three months at
the IIM-B to study and get a feel of a student’s life.
“I am happy that the movie is doing well. All of us have contributed a lot
to the movie. A lot of hands and heads have been put together to make this movie a success. Nobody can kill a good film and a bad film will not do
well no matter how hard you try.” There was a lot of effort that went into the making of 3 Idiots.
“All the roles are well
written. In order to get a feel of our roles, we stayed in IIM-B’s hostel along with other students, interacted with them and spent a lot of
time with them,” says Aamir and adds, “physically, I am 44, but mentally, I don’t feel like I am more than 18 or 19
years.”
Aamir says he feels much younger after shooting for the movie. “I’ve never been to a college. I started working
at a very young age. So it felt like I was going to college at the IIM-B.”
Commenting on his unique marketing strategies of going to
several places in disguise, in order to promote the movie, he says, “It was a creative idea born out of the movie itself. There’s a part
in the movie where I go missing and my other two friends search for me. The same was applied in real life as well and I expected my friends to look
out for me.” He adds, “It was tough for me to disguise myself and even tougher to carry it off. I explored our country to a great extent.
I got to walk on the streets and saw things at a much closer level.”
When asked about being paired with Sharman Joshi and Madhavan again
after Rang De Basanti, he says, “Each film is a unique experience and I feel blessed to be part of Rang De Basanti as well as 3
Idiots.”
Speaking about the book Five Point Someone, he says, “I’ve not read the book. While we were shooting, Chetan
mentioned that the script is very different from the movie and that there are no similarities between the two.” And how was the experience of
working with Kareena Kapoor? He answers, “She is a wonderful actress with great looks. This is my first movie with her and you never know how
time flies when she is around.”
